LAHORE: The newly-appointed President of Pakistan Peoples Party, Central Punjab, Qamar Zaman Kaira, has said the PPP has no link with the Panama Leaks case filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the court and stated the party wants the solution of issue through parliament.
Flanked by PPP Punjab General Secretary Nadim Afzal Gondal and Secretary Information Mustafa Nawaz Khokher, addressing his first press conference in Lahore as the new organisational head of Central Punjab, Qamar Zaman Kaira stated that the PPP would launch a movement against the government if its four demands were not fulfilled.
He said the PPP had a history of struggle and it had never bowed before any dictator, adding unity in the ranks of opposition parties was necessary to exert pressure on the government.
He also said that the PPP was being run by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and it would return to its traditional colour, adding that party had even swayed the dictatorial regimes and would take to the streets if the government didn’t respond to its demands.
To a question, he stated whatever was happening in the Supreme Court regarding Panama Leaks, PPP had no link with it. However, he said if the PTI wanted any legal assistance over this case, PPP could ponder over it.Samina Ghurki, Chaudhry Manzoor and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
